We look forward to welcoming back all the children to Bournmoor Primary School. The staff have been working very hard to get school ready for children to return. It will look different to how it was when the children left but this is so everyone is safe.
When you arrive at school you will come in through the side gate near the infant porch. You will notice yellow lines painted on the ground. This helps keep everyone a safe distance from each other. There will be one way in school through this gate and one way out using the top gate. This means everyone walks in one direction and doesn’t get too close to anyone else. It is important we all stay 2 metres (200 cm) apart.
You will need to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or long enough to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ twice. This keeps you safe throughout the day. You will need to do this when you arrive at school, after break times and if you sneeze, cough or blow your nose. The staff may ask you to wash your hands too especially after you have been outside.
When you enter the class room you will notice that the desks are more spaced out and this is because we have to keep a safe distance from other people. You can still talk to your friends and the adults in your room but you need to do this from a safe distance.
When it comes to lunch you will eat lunch in your classroom. Your lunch will be brought to you so you don’t walk around school to collect it. If the weather is warm you might eat outside but it is important you sit 2 metres from your friends. If you have a packed lunch from home then the teacher will tell you where to put it until lunchtime. Remember to keep your water bottle next to you.
You will be spending time outside for outdoor learning and for play time. The staff will explain the areas you can play in. You can play with your friends but just remember to keep apart.
At the end of the day your parent will be waiting for you outside on a red spot that has been marked on the ground. These markings have been put out to make sure your parent is safe and 2 metres apart from other people.
And remember that if you feel unwell you must tell an adult straight away so we can look after you.
